For nearly 20 years now, Heritage Day has been a time to bring neighbors together; enjoy great food, drink and music; and celebrate the beautiful Virginia fall weather. It is also a time to recognize our unique tight-knit community and our historic 280-year-old village.

 

Over the years, the Society has achieved many critically important objectives: saving the Unison Store and operating it as a cultural center of the Unison community, fending off inappropriate development, pursuing federal and state protected designations for our culturally significant village and historic landscapes, providing public comment on rural Loudoun zoning matters, and providing educational information to the larger community on environmental matters and conservation easements. 

 

This year is an important one as we engage with neighbors and Loudoun County on the creation of an Historic District and the development of a long term vision for our community as a Rural Historic Village. Heritage Day is our primary fundraiser, and we rely on your support. Your contribution, whether by providing a sponsorship, attending Heritage Day, and/or donating auction items supports our conservation efforts and helps with event costs.
